====== Customization ====== ===== How can I limit TOAD's object altering capabilities? ===== You can either make TOAD read-only, by copying readonly.lic over toad.lic, or revoking Oracle system privileges, e.g., "create table" from those user accounts. You can also download a read only TOAD from Quest's website, or use TOAD Security to set a schema to read only. ===== I hid both toolbars on my SQL Editor or Procedure Editor, and now I can't get them back! What do I do? ===== For the SQL Editor: Right-click and choose "Customize toolbars". For the Procedure Editor: Right-click and choose "Procedure Editor Desktop"->"Customize toolbars". On the first tab, check the toolbars you want to see. ===== Why can't I customize my toolbar? The "Customize" item on the Tools menu is grayed out, and when I right-click over the toolbar, there is no "Customize" menu item like there used to be. ===== TOAD 7.4 and up ships with several pre-customized toolbars that may not be customized. To enable customization of toolbars, go to Options->Toolbars and choose "User default" or press "Add" to create a new, customizable toolbar based on one of the existing ones. ===== Why can't I find my favorite window in my menu or toolbars anymore? ===== TOAD allows you to customize your menus and toolbars. For this reason, its possible that your menu or toolbar may not the latest and greatest in TOAD. Go to View->Options->Toolbars. Then do **one** of the following: * Select one that is read-only, and has a [all items] or [full menus]. If you are using the GA, this will ensure that you have access to everything that is currently in TOAD. If you are using the beta, you will need to use this: * Select a toolbar that is not read-only. You can add items manually by doing a r-click->customize on the toolbar, then drag the item from the DBA menu up to where you want it on the menu bars - or to a toolbar as a button. To see what's new from release to release, go to Help->Contents and click on "See What's New."
